No we utilize the same distribution system pressure throughout the entire flushing process – the only thing that the NO-DES system is concerned with is increasing flow rates to achieve a minimum of 5 FPS of velocity to allow us to actually scour and strip off contaminants.

Our system contains two separate vessels – one is a roughing, the other is a filtering, each vessel contains qty (12) #2 filter bags rated at absolute 1 ntu. They are considered common trash – so when removed they can be disposed of easily and cannot be re-used.

YES – any water quality technician from the utility can take as many samples as they like from our sampling spigots located on our Operators panel. Tests can be taken pre, during, and post flushes as many times as you like.
YES The NO-DES Patented flushing technology allows you to inject small minute droplets of 10-12% liquid chlorine solution as needed to boost residuals as they get lowered as we strip biofilm away during flushing evolutions. So any targeted main flush we do – chlorine tests are always taken – and IF needed, can be brought back up to distribution levels before shutting down.
Upon arrival – any client will be met by a Crew Chief and Utility Technician as a 2 man production team. Resources will included a fully equipped NO-DES flushing Rig as well as a second Utility vehicle for safety and traffic control support. ValveTek always requests that one employee from the Utility work with us on a daily basis to work on infrastructure questions, mapping, as well as valve operations.
YES – ValveTek has a full ramping system and traffic control signage to safely handle traffic loads of any gross vehicle weight rating without damage to our hose nor vehicles.
YES – all components coming in contact with potable water are in compliance and have manufacturers data sheets to support that claim.
ValveTek Utility Services Inc. keeps the pricing structure very simple – we charge a daily rate for our services covering all staffing, resources, fuels, insurances, lodgings, meals, etc.… with the only variable charge being for our filter bags. Which are replaced on only an AS NEEDED basis.
YES – We normally like to request of the client a minimum (1) one week window of flushing – as this gives us a solid stance of cleaning a lot of problematic areas and showing the multiple applications, benefits, and advantages of our NO-DES system. We are open to adjusting that and can be discussed on a per client basis.

NONE – This is the beauty of the NO-DES patented Flushing system as it allows us to connect to 2 targeted hydrants and become one with your distribution system. WE then just circulate and loop the water through our filtering system for as long as needed until reaching our below 1 NTU goal of water quality. NO WATER EVER LEAVES THE MAIN OR IS WASTED!
Once ValveTek Utility Services preplans and strategizes a flushing plan – we select a targeted area that allow us to utilize mainline valves to open and close as needed to redirect loops of water back through our targeted hydrant area. This is optimum for minimizing public disruption, as well as making a strong daily footage achievable.
The NO-DES flushing system can remove settled particulates, bio film, iron and manganese and some sources of color.
Yes. GAC backwashing is an additional function the NO-DES unit can perform. To do so, one end of the transfer hose is connected to the backwash drain outlet of the GAC filter and the other to the inlet of the NO-DES unit. A second transfer hose is connected from the discharge of the NO-DES unit to a hydrant located in the distribution system. The backwash cycle can be controlled by the NO-DES unit without interruption, and the cartridges/bags can be disposed when backwashing is complete.
